Louis Vuitton unveiled its spring-summer 2022 collection for menswear last Friday and many sneakerheads were thrilled to catch a glimpse of the French maison’s collaboration with Nike – the new Air Force 1 sneakers. The shoes are available in 21 colors and include low and mid-top versions. The panels of the shoes are decorated with Vuitton’s characteristic monogram prints, the words “AIR” on the midsoles and “LACET” (the French word for shoelace) on the tip ends. Designed by Virgil Abloh, known for his fondness for bringing elements of streetwear to the luxury segment, the shoes will be a collectors item when they are released.
In his show notes at the Maison it says: “For spring-summer 2022, Virgil Abloh is working with Nike on tailor-made Air Force 1s and merging the classic codes of the trainer with the insignia and materials of Louis Vuitton as an homage to hip-hop culture, that shaped him. “
Details about the Louis Vuitton Air Force 1s are not yet known and we just have to wait now. Similar to his cousins at Dior, where Kim Jones created the hugely popular Air Diors, we expect nothing less than a clean cleaning when the shoes hit the shelves.
